(ii) Construction of 132/11 kV, 45 MVA GIS Substation at Changunarayan, Bhaktapur.
- Project Objectives and Goals:
The main objective of the Project is to increase transmission capacity of Kathmandu Valley and to enhance the efficiency of existing transmission system by constructing 220 kV Substaion at Lapsiphedi and 132 kV substation at Changunarayan for Tamakoshi-Kathmandu 400 kV Transmission Line, which is under construction. The line will evacuate the power generated from Upper Tamakoshi Hydroelectric Project to Kathmandu Valley and hence strengthen INPS.

“Design, Supply, Installation and Commissioning of Gas insulated 220 kV Lapsiphedi Substation and 132 kV Changunarayan Substation”
Scope:
The scope includes design, engineering, manufacture, fabrication, testing at manufacturers works, delivery, unloading at site, storage, erection, testing and commissioning at site of the complete 220 kV & 132kV switchyard including indoor SF6 gas insulated metal enclosed switchgear (GIS), 220 kV, 132kV, 11 kV Indoor/outdoor equipment, 220/132 kV, 53.33 MVA Single Phase Auto transformer, 132/11kV 45 & 132/11 kV, 5MVA 3-phase Transformer, associated civil works, internal roads, drains, necessary switchyard buildings etc., 220kV GIS ducts for making connections with outdoor Auto Transformers, and 220kV overhead lines, 132kV GIS ducts for making connections with outdoor Auto Transformers and 132kV overhead lines, Control & protection, Digital protection Coupler, FO based communication system and, other electrical and mechanical auxiliary systems and construction of residential buildings (staff quarters) on turnkey basis.
