Grid Substation Capacity Expansion Project
Report for 1st Quarter 2018
Government of Nepal (GON) has received Loan No. 3139-NEP from the Asian Development Bank and Grant 0397 from the Government of Norway towards the cost of SASEC Power System Expansion Project.
Contract Package 1 (Grid Substation Reinforcement Project):
The main components of the "Grid Substation Reinforcement Project" include expansion / up-gradation of Various Grid Substations and Power House Switchyard. The up gradation and reinforcement works are to be performed at following substations:
GANDAK S/S EXPANSION Gandak substation is the switchyard of the Gandak Power Plant. The scope intends to add following equipment and construction of new control building. The expanded substation shall be unmanned substation, controlled, monitored from existing Gandak Control Room. The substation is to be developed from new land near to the existing switchyard.

Contract Package 2 (Design, Supply, Installation and Commissioning of Dhalkebar - Mujeliya 33kV Line Upgrading Project):
This project covers the execution of Upgradation of 33 kV Double Circuit Dhalkebar –Mujeliya Sub-Transmission Line (HTLS Conductor) with restoration of towers and installation of Two (2) 33 kV, 10 MVar Capacitor Banks at Mujeliya Substation.

Contract Package 1 (Grid Substation Reinforcement Project) : The main objective of the Project is Upgradation of Substation Capacity of various substation to improve reliability and the quality of the system and to cater growing load of the country.
Contract Package 2 (Design, Supply, Installation and Commissioning of Dhalkebar - Mujeliya 33kV Line Upgrading Project):
The main objective of the Project is Upgradation of 33 kV Dhalkebar –Mujeliya Line to increase the Capacity of the Line to improve reliability and the quality of the system and to cater growing load of the Janakpur Area.
